EnerCrest, Inc. Acquires KC Harvey
Integrated oilfield services company extends environmental leadership through the addition of world-class sciences team.
Big Piney, Wyoming – Nov. 15, 2006 – EnerCrest, Inc., an integrated oilfield services
company based in Wyoming, achieved a major milestone this week with the acquisition of
KC Harvey, Inc., one of the region’s leading environmental consulting firms. EnerCrest’s
oilfield construction and environmental solutions businesses are centered on offering stateof-
the-art environmental oilfield service solutions to its customers across the Rocky
Mountain region. KC Harvey is a fourteen person environmental consulting firm based in
Bozeman, MT that is focused on soil science, surface water resources, land reclamation,
environmental impact assessment, oil and gas produced water management, and
environmental permitting.
In early 2006, EnerCrest and KC Harvey struck a strategic consulting agreement that has
culminated in the merger of the two companies. “This acquisition marries KC Harvey’s
world-class soil, water and reclamation science capabilities to EnerCrest’s suite of oilfield
service offerings and has established the leading environmentally-driven oilfield services
company,” said Shaun Andrikopoulos, EnerCrest’s Chief Executive Officer. “At the end of
the day, this combination of science and implementation capabilities enables us to help our
customers maximize operational efficiency while minimizing the environmental footprint of
their operations for years to come.”
KC Harvey’s practical, science-driven approach has earned it a global reputation for some
of the best problem-solving and innovative approaches to soil and water management,
including coalbed methane produced water management in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin
and habitat restoration in Wyoming’s Jonah natural gas field. Kevin Harvey, the founder of
KC Harvey, brings a 25 year track record in environmental consulting to EnerCrest.
“With national and international attention being focused on oil and gas development in the
Rocky Mountains, we see the market need to accelerate the implementation of our
scientific work into practical, real-world solutions for our customers,” said Mr. Harvey.
“EnerCrest is now unique in its ability to apply cutting edge science to mainstream oilfield
services, enabling it to solve complex environmental issues in the field. Ultimately, that
means better stewardship outcomes for our customers’ operations and the environment as a
whole.”
The KC Harvey team of science professionals will focus on integrating innovative
environmental best management practices across EnerCrest’s oilfield construction service
offerings. Additionally, the KC Harvey team will spearhead EnerCrest’s launch into
produced water management and site restoration. KC Harvey’s business will operate as a
wholly-owned EnerCrest subsidiary and will continue to provide independent environmental
science consulting to its wide range of customers. Mr. Harvey will continue to serve as
President of KC Harvey and will serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientist for
EnerCrest. He will also be added to the board of directors on EnerCrest, Inc.
“The integration among EnerCrest’s service divisions enables our management to work with
our customers on planning, implementing, and monitoring results. It means we have a lot
more control over service quality and operational efficiency. We can identify and act on
opportunities more quickly,” said John Villar, EnerCrest’s Executive Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer.
